As a youth in 2014, Cooper developed numerous seasonal and professional records for Alabama. Against Tennessee, he broke a single Alabama game he received in yards, finished with 224. He later matched the record against Auburn. For the season, Cooper had 124 guests for 1, 727 yards and 16 falls, all school records. Also, his 124 receptions were the record of the Saudi Electricity Company. He became the Alabama leader at all times in receptions (229), receiving yards (3, 463) and landing (31). Cooper was in the final of the Hessman Cup, finishing third behind Marcus Mariot and Melvin Gordon. He won the Biletnikoff award this season and was unanimously named All Americans.
